The Monster Mash Run - 5k/10k & Kids K - takes place at the beautiful Karbach brewery located at 2032 Karbach Street in Northwest Houston.
The Monster Mash Run was established in 2008 in Sugar Land, Texas and was moved to Sam Houston Race Park in 2009. In 2015, RA Sports Management relocated the race to the Karbach Brewery in order to provide a new USATF certified route and a new experience for our participants. Since it's a Halloween themed run, most of the runners and families dress up in their favorite costume to enhance the fun.
The 5k/10k have a mass start at 7:30 AM (chip timed) with the kids run starting later in the morning at 9:15 AM. All courses are flat and fast.

COURSE CUTOFF TIMES
What is a course cutoff time?
A course cutoff time is not something we "want" to have it's something we "need" and are "required" to have. Due to the strictness of county road usage and approvals on permits we have to make sure we are on and off the roads within certain time allowances. The times listed below are more than resonable for most runners/walkers to complete the course.
5k (3.1-Miles) Run - Cutoff 8:30AM (1-Hour)
7:30AM Start - That means each runner of the 5k distance must be able to hold a 19:21/per mile walking pace.
10k (6.2-Miles) Run - Cutoff - 9:30AM (2-Hours)
7:30AM Start - That means each runner of the 10k distance must be able to hold a 19:21/per mile walking pace.
Kids K Run - Cutoff - None

We can accommodate running groups of any size on race day
We are looking for fun, energetic people to lend a helping hand on race day! Volunteer jobs will include: water stations, post-race activities, finisher merchandise, food/beverage and much more! You can expect each shift to last about 4 hours.

The 2016 Monster Mash Run will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017.
The 2017 Monster Mash Run will be held at Karbach Brewing Co. 2032 Karbach Street, Houston TX 77092.
All 5K and 10K participants will be timed using a B-Tag which is attached to runner’s race bib.
We will run Rain or Shine! If it is lightening at the time of start, then we will delay the start for a reasonable time for safety.
10K Race Registration:
Early Registration – 5/1/17 to 7/31/17 – $40
Regular Registration – 8/1/17 to 10/10/17 – $45
Late Registration – 10/11/17 to 10/27/17 – $50

Race Registration closes at 7:00pm on Friday, October 27th. There will be not be any Race Day registration this year.
We will have limited bib pickup available on Race Day for those people that register after the last official packet pickup.
You may pick up your 5K / 10K bib at a bib pickup the week before the race (Date and Location TBA).
Should you lose or damage your BIB prior to race day, a $10.00 administrative fee will be required to obtain a new BIB.
Kids K Participants will pick up their materials on race morning

Dogs, skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles or any other wheeled devices are not allowed on the race course
The awards ceremony for overall winner (top 3 women, top 3 men in 5K and 10K) will take place at 9:00 am. There will be a costume contest with the male, female and group winners receiving gift cards to Sun & Ski.
Yes, All registrants will receive a unisex participation shirt. T-shirts will be available for pick up on race day, before and after the race.
5K/10K participants will receive a commerative Karbach pint glass and participants 21 and older will receive two beer tickets. Kids K participants will receive a tshirt and a trick-o-treat bucket for the candy station at the halfway point on the kids run.
Yes, Age Group awards will be given out in 5 year increments for both the 5K and 10K races beginning at 14&U, 15-19, 20-24… 75+
